As a 47 year old man who owns a gym I feel you’re simplifying this way too much. Strength is relative. Reps from 1-6 are not isolated for “strength”. Gaining reps in any range, and pounds on the bar/machine/DB is improving strength

Strength training IS bodybuilding.

Instead of focusing on low reps and higher weight and sticking to barbell lifts that don’t serve you.

Do:

Trap bar deads
Seated OHP
Incline bench press
Skip barbell squats and do split squats with a SSB and hand assist for balance

There is no black and white here. It’s shades of grey and it’s all in how you execute the lifts.
